MediaWiki incorrectly takes you to this page when you click on the upper 'help'. Leave here and use the lower 'Editing help' button to eventually find the MediaWiki pages.

There is a Sandbox for testing Wiki markup.

Project pages

The RFC proposal under development is found on the project page, usually titled 'article' in the tab at the top. When you edit a proposal contained on the project page, please include a short summary of your changes in the summary box lower down on the editing page -- this for the history file.

Discussion pages

Every project page has an associated 'discussion' page. I encourage using this for developing community concensus about possible changes to the RFC, before committing changes. If it is possible, let's organize these so that the most recent items are first. In any case, please SIGN your contribution to discussion pages. This is accomplished by keying the tilde key exactly four times.

For general directions regarding a wiki, I found the 'help' page for wikipedia usefully informative. (Besides, wikipedia can use your help with regard to many aspects of computer science...)
